Ugandan music enthusiasts have a reason to rejoice as the iconic Congolese musician, Awilo Longomba, announces his return to the Pearl of Africa. Known for his electrifying rhythms and captivating stage presence, Longomba is set to make a grand comeback after his previous visit left fans clamoring for more.
During his last trip to Uganda, Longomba graced the stage in support of the legendary Afrigo Band at their 48th-anniversary concert held at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel. Despite delivering a performance that was nothing short of spectacular, it was cut short, much to the disappointment of the eager crowd.
This year, Longomba is determined to make amends. In an exclusive reveal, it has been confirmed that the “Kupe Kupe Bibamba” hitmaker will be staging not one, but two major shows in Uganda. Marking a departure from the capital city’s limelight, these performances are slated to take place in the vibrant cities of Arua and Masaka.
The tour will kick off in Arua on August 31, where fans can expect to dance the night away to Longomba’s infectious beats. The following day, September 1, the celebration continues in Masaka, promising an unforgettable experience for all in attendance.
While Kampala will not be hosting these events, the excitement is palpable across the country as music lovers gear up for what promises to be a pair of sensational concerts. With anticipation building, Uganda is ready to welcome Awilo Longomba with open arms and dancing feet.
