President William Ruto has declared that the government will not use money to seek favorable court rulings, but rather fight corruption in the Judiciary to ensure that Kenyans can access justice with ease. Speaking during the commissioning of various affordable housing projects, President Ruto stated that he had no budget to set aside money for court matters, unlike the previous government.

He added that instead of allocating funds to sort out court matters, the government would fight corrupt judicial staff. “Some people have told me to set aside some money, like the previous government did, to sort out court matters. I have told them I have no budget for that. Instead, we will fight corrupt judicial staff,” said President Ruto 1.

This move by the government is a step towards ensuring that the Judiciary is free from corruption and that justice is served to all Kenyans. The government’s commitment to fighting corruption in the Judiciary will go a long way in restoring public trust in the Judiciary and ensuring that the rule of law is upheld 1.
