The husband of TV presenter Kate Garraway, Derek Draper, is battling for his life in hospital after suffering a massive heart attack last week.

Draper, 54, collapsed at his home and was rushed to the intensive care unit, where he remains in a coma. Doctors have warned that he has a slim chance of survival and that he may have suffered brain damage.

Garraway, 50, has cancelled all her work commitments, including her role as a host on Good Morning Britain, to be by her husband's side. She is said to be "devastated" and "praying for a miracle".

The couple, who have been married for 15 years, have two children, Darcey, 14, and Billy, 11. They have been receiving support from their friends and colleagues, who have sent them messages of love and hope.

Garraway and Draper met in 2004, when he was a political adviser to the Labour Party. He later became a psychotherapist and an author. Garraway is a popular TV personality, who has worked on various shows, such as GMTV, Daybreak, Lorraine, and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
