Rapper and producer Fat Joe has expressed his admiration for NBA star Draymond Green, saying that he is ‘convinced’ that the Golden State Warriors forward belongs in his hip-hop group Terror Squad.
In an interview with Complex, Fat Joe praised Green’s passion and intensity on the court, which often leads to him getting into heated arguments with opponents, referees, and even teammates.
“I love Draymond Green. He’s one of my favorite players in the NBA. He’s got a bad temper, but he’s a winner. He’s a champion. He plays with his heart. He reminds me of myself,” Fat Joe said.
Fat Joe, who is best known for his hits like “Lean Back”, “What’s Luv?”, and “All the Way Up”, said that he would welcome Green to join his rap crew, which includes artists like Remy Ma, DJ Khaled, and the late Big Pun.
“I’m convinced that Draymond Green belongs in Terror Squad. He’s got that TS energy. He’s fearless. He’s loyal. He’s a leader. He’s a beast. He would fit right in with us,” Fat Joe said.
Green, who is a three-time NBA champion and a three-time All-Star, has not responded to Fat Joe’s offer yet. However, he has shown his love for hip-hop in the past, appearing on rap podcasts and playlists, and even rapping himself in a commercial for Beats by Dre.
Green is currently preparing for the upcoming NBA season, which is set to begin on October 17. He will be reunited with his fellow Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who missed most of last season due to injuries.
Fat Joe, meanwhile, is working on his new album, which he said will feature collaborations with Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Rihanna. He also recently participated in a Verzuz battle with Ja Rule, where he performed some of his classic hits and exchanged friendly jabs with his fellow New York rapper.
