Digital content creator Eve Mungai is shedding light on the losses she faced when her Airbnb property located in the upscale area of Kilimani was robbed. Clarifying any misconceptions, Mungai emphasized that the house targeted by the thieves was not her personal residence, but rather one of the rental properties managed by her and her boyfriend, Director Trevor. In a detailed account of the incident, Mungai provided insight into the impact of the robbery and the challenges faced as a result.

"I'm here to clarify a few things and give you all a glimpse of the house as it stands now because it truly is a beautiful space," expressed the 23-year-old digital content creator. Addressing the misconceptions, she emphasized that the robbery did not occur at her personal residence but rather at one of the apartments they manage as an Airbnb. Setting the record straight, she aimed to provide a clear distinction and assure her followers that the incident did not directly impact her living space.

 Wednesday when the entire incident unfolded, and I vividly recall the sequence of events. As a digital content creator, I collaborate with an agent who has been connecting me with clients for quite some time now. On that fateful day, the agent reached out to inform me about a client who was looking to book the place for just one night before heading to the airport the next day.


Typically, I don't accept short-term stays, but since I trusted the agent and had cleaners scheduled for the following day, I made an exception. That Wednesday evening, the guests arrived with their suitcases and settled in," shared Mungai Eve, reflecting on the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate robbery incident.


egretfully, Thursday morning started with a call from a friend who is also an agent, inquiring about what had happened at the house. He asked, 'Who were the people that stayed there?' Confused and concerned, I requested him to send me a video, and when I received it, I was utterly shocked.

I have never experienced such devastation before. This house held great significance to me as it was my very first project. Upon seeing the video, it was evident that the place had been ransacked. The thieves had stolen items such as the carpet, curtains, decor, and other valuables, amounting to a loss of approximately Sh200,000.


The incident has left a deep impact, and we are in the process of picking up the pieces and rebuilding," Mungai Eve expressed with a heavy heart.


"We immediately reported the incident to the police, hoping for a swift resolution," Mungai Eve sadly recounted. Faced with the distressing burglary, she took proactive steps to seek justice. 


Sharing updates with her followers, on November 10, Mungai bravely posted CCTV footage she had received. The footage clearly captured two individuals, a male and a female, leaving her apartment with conspicuous briefcases, confirming their involvement in the robbery. By making this evidence public, she aimed to raise awareness and potentially aid in identifying the culprits responsible for the theft.
