London, May 19, 2024 — Giovanni Pernice, the professional dancer on “Strictly Come Dancing,” has broken his silence regarding allegations of “threatening or abusive” behavior during training sessions with actress Amanda Abbington. The Italian dancer, rumored to have quit the BBC dance competition, aims to clear his name after an internal investigation.
Lisa Armstrong, the show’s head makeup artist and Ant McPartlin’s ex-wife, has shown her support for Pernice by liking his statement addressing the claims. In a social media post, Pernice expressed surprise at the allegations and vehemently rejected any suggestion of abusive conduct. He emphasized his passion and competitiveness, especially when it comes to supporting his dance partners.
Pernice clarified that his teaching methods always stem from a place of love and ambition. He strives to help his partners become the best dancers they can be. Despite the controversy, he remains committed to clearing his name and appreciates the continued support from fans.
A separate source revealed that Amanda Abbington had a difficult experience with Pernice, describing his behavior as “bullying and abrasive.” Abbington eventually quit the competition due to an urgent medical condition.
