Four people have been killed and at least 92 others wounded after Russia continued its military aggression against Ukraine on Tuesday. The attacks targeted several locations in eastern Ukraine, where pro-Russian separatists have been fighting the Ukrainian government since 2014.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks as a violation of the Minsk agreements, which aim to end the conflict and restore peace in the region. The ministry said that the number of casualties is expected to rise as search and rescue operations continue.
"As of this morning, 92 people have been reported injured and 4 killed. As search and rescue operations continue, the number of victims may increase," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry also called on the international community to pressure Russia to stop its aggression and respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. It urged the UN Security Council, the OSCE, and other relevant organizations to take urgent actions to prevent further escalation and humanitarian crisis.
The attacks came amid rising tensions between Russia and the West over Ukraine's aspirations to join NATO and the EU. Russia has amassed thousands of troops and military equipment near the border with Ukraine, sparking fears of a possible invasion. The US and its allies have expressed their support for Ukraine and warned Russia of severe consequences if it attacks.
